I was but a wee child when Joe Willie played at ‘Bama, but they were good times. Sigh.

Will you kiss me now that I'm a college grad?

Maybe he’ll finally get to kiss Suzie.

It took him five years to earn 17 credits and get a degree in Interdisciplinary
Studies, whatever that is?

As Joe said, more years ago than I care to remember, “If you got it, flaunt it.”
PS...IIRC, he signed for $400,000 over four years AND a convertible.

My favorite Namath moment was late in his career with the Rams against the Giants, where he actually did a quarterback sneak to win the game, and you could just see him gesturing to the defenders, “please don’t touch the knees.” He figured the last thing the Giants would have expected was for him to sneak the ball, and he was right!

Foe a while, I dated a gal who produced commercials, She let drop that she had just done one with Joe Willie and couldn't understand my bonkers reaction - she really had no idea who he was! I explained, and she told me he had acted like a perfect gentleman and was totally devoted to his kids. Good stuff to hear, knowing his struggles with the bottle.
Super Bowl III was the first football game I ever watched from beginning to end, with my late dad cheering like crazy for the Jets. The beginnings of my football addiction!
