Apparently you have not read up on Wesley very much. His "attacks" on a theological level on Catholicism are legendary!
His published works contain many references to the incorrect theology and practices of Catholicism and I believe he responded in "letters to the editor" to several Newspapers as well.
I dare say if Mormonism were around during his day, his approach would have been the same.

I do not accept that the LDS is theologically correct, but all of the members I have met are admirable people. (Love the Mormon Choir's Messiah, too)
