That is his impact on the public. At best you should only be attacking him for being hypocritical to his faith because that shows character. NOT attacking his faith to get at him unless you seriously think that something unique to his faith will tranfer over to his public policy.

How about this:

The Mormons have a secret temple ritual. Mormons give (or at least did when Romney was first given the temple ceremony) a blood oath not to reveal to anyone what is said, done or promised in that temple ceremony. Now Romney has kept this secret for his whole life and we can expect that he will continue to keep whatever was said, done or promised a secret from everyone on pain of having his throat slit, and his bowels scattered over the countryside.

There are also taught a whole slew of secret handshakes which have secret meanings.

Now maybe all this is harmless, but the fact is that we don't know what promises Romney made in his temple ritual. For all we know he promised to follow the instructions of the Prophet of the Mormon church to the letter if he were ever called upon by the Prophet to make some decision or effect some policy which the Prophet of the LDS church might call upon him to do.

We simply don't know what took place in the Mormon temple between the LDS Church and Romney and he is prohibited from telling anybody about it.

Maybe that's irrelevant. Maybe everything that goes on in those secret temple rituals is harmless. Maybe it isn't. But I think it is an issue which is going to come up should we nominate Romney as president.

Mormonism has a lot of baggage. It's historical discrimination against blacks (BTW some of my Mormon relatives were (in private) some of the most virulent bigots I have ever met in my life), the polygamy thing, the men can become gods thing, the Mountain Meadow Massacre. All these things are going to be exploited by Hillary's underground minions and she is going to portray herself as the true Evangelical Christian candidate in the race.

My prediction is that Romney will get the nomination. I will vote for Romney for president provided that he doesn't choose Giuliani as his running mate. I also believe that Romney's religion is going to be an albatross around his neck and it may sink his candidacy. I think it is important that we air this laundry. If that makes me a bigot, then I guess I'm proud to be a bigot. If getting the truth out (regardless of who it offends) is bigotry in action, then we need more of it.

Several of the Founding Fathers were Masons, and they too, “had secret rituals”, oooh.

“Secret handshakes with secret meanings” - are you for real? That’s something that some pimply faced, paranoid truther would post on DU.

I am a Mason and I can affirm that all of the above was plagiarized.

Masonery is not a religion though, regardless of what some think, so that may not count.
