I know ya'll are going to make jokes.

But I am asking about the rodents type not the liberal kind.

Sounds to me like what you need is a fierce CAT!

No they don’t work, at least not in my experience.

How about traps? Nice warm cozy ones. Too small for the dogs. Put the poison in the traps. (I’m presuming dogs won’t eat dead rats, though I’ve seen stranger things go into dogs.)

Well, if they are using them in Congress then they are miserable failures.

They don’t work.

You need to get a cat.

Or put the D Con inside a trap but be sure to put other tasty stuff along with it.

Even if the trap doesn’t work, it will still keep the D Con away from dogs.

There are electronic rat zappers available and they work as long as you keep the batteries fresh and the mechanism clean. Here’s the one I bought :
http://www.skymall.com/shopping/detail.htm?pid=102202272&c=

It works very well (just put a nugget of dogfood in the end of it to “bait” it and you’ll soon have an electrocuted rat).

Add a Jack Russell Terrier to your dog herd. When I start feeding the birds in our back yard, huge rats come up out of a ravine behind our house to get what ever the birds drop. My youngest JRT, just 8 months old killed a huge rat just last week. This rat was so big it would have scared a cat.

I use a Victor electronic mouse trap (battery powered). It works great for killing mice and, once, a larger vole. I bait it with a piece of peanut. It should be too small for any decent sized rat but then I don’t know how decent are your rats.

If you hang a copy of this in your garage it will keep the rats away.

The best thing for any rodents is a cranky cat. If that is not a choice try a professional. They bring stuff you can’t get. I have tried electronics for about every kind of pest and have not found one that works.

My grandfather once told me that rats are good because they scare the mice away. Notice that you don’t have a mouse problem so the rats are obviously doing their jobs..........

No Dem jokes?

We can't point out that even Hillary's shrill tones can't run the 'rats off?

Nevermind, then.

Sigh.

I have the ultrasonic gizmos. Mom bought them, and I haven’t felt the need to ditch them. I haven’t seen a sign of a rodent in the residence — no droppings, no scratching in the walls. There are droppings in the basement, but I hven’t seen a live one.

Of course, I never saw rodents before the ultrasonic gizmos, so they might be like elephant repellent.

You could try laying a trail of dog or cat food (whichever your rats prefer) from your place to the neighbors house after dark. Once the rats eat their way over to the neighbor’s they won’t be able to find their way back to your house........
