Au contraire, mon frere. If true, it would mean he's lying about something quite profoundly and repeating the lie in every way he can. Such a man would not be a viable candidate for President.
Bariatric surgery itself is irrelevant, but constant lying (especially involving a fraudulent book contract) would be a very serious deal breaker.
There is nothing...NOTHING...more important than character when choosing a leader. See posts 20 and 21.
Either what Plutarch has hewre is right or it's wrong. If it's right it's a total deal-breaker. Consider that if it is right, Huckabee defrauded his publisher.
First, that's crap. Debate is what primary season is for, and though I'm not 100% sold, it's not as if Plutarch didn't bring facts.
Second, if you want to see Mrs. Bill Clinton in the White House, one easy way to do it is nominate Mike Huckabee. The Fair tax is a ready-made talking point for the Dems.
I just put your article on Digg.
That question shows you didn't read the article. Plutarch provided several ways Huckabee could prove it with the issuance of a little medical data.
Since when is it not relevant whether a guy lies or not?
Nobody cares how he lost the weight. I care whether he lied about how he lost the weight. Big difference. Character is issue #1.
Before you call it ridiculous, see posts 20, 21 and 51.
If my fellow Freepers want to say, “This proves nothing,” I say that’s great. But I am shocked to find people in this thread who think it would be no big deal if a guy has been lying for years about something that he based policy on, and sold a book contract on. Don’t forgtet that if he did have bariatric surgery, his book deal is fraud.
Not every 26 year old listens to their Dad. Also, I can tell you that I’m about 30 pounds heavier than my two brothers are, and if they weren’t pretty well muscled the gap would be even bigger.
Thanks.
I generally do add the smoke nazi factor, but it was late/early and I was tired.
You are correct but I made a subsequent post admitting I had not read it and when I did go back and read it, I admitted my error.
>>>>>The Fair tax is a ready-made talking point for the Dems.
Huh?
This could be easier, call the Ark. press or check Ark. blogs, they would know if it were gradual, downtime, exercise rituals in the duration, excess skin, how he eats, etc.
The Dems will just talk about "Mike Huckabee's 23% tax hike" and start introducing Hillary at her rallies as the "no tax hike" candidate. They will also claim (rightly) that the Fair Tax will make a heavy impact on retirees, and that any proposal that gives the poor a "prebate" or a voucher will still require government agents to be in people's business. Nobody with a brain is going to believe that the IRS will just cease to exist, or that the Congress will pass a sales tax and never, ever think about passing an income tax again. Yes, I know, we could do it by Constitutional Amendment, but I don't see that happening at this stage.
I'm no populist, but when people hear that IRS is going to be investigating single moms and not caring a bit about Donald Trump and George Soros, they are going to make a populist decision.
Sorry for the friendly fire. My bad.
Ali, if you read Plutarch’s post, he states that the gastric bypass surgery rumors having been swirling around Arkansas for some time. Also, he mentions the HIPAA privacy laws which prohibit conversations about medical records. Violating these HIPPA laws can lead to stiff penalties. Thus, Huckabee would have to voluntarily agree to provide access to his medical records if he is telling the truth about his weight loss and wishes to put this compelling circumstantial case to rest. Better yet, he could have the barium swallow test that would confirm a normal sized stomach.
Do you have any idea how the flax tax “Qs” with swing voters!!!!
It is a +41 issue!!!
that’s one big-a** topic post.

THANK YOU for your pertinent comments! I feel Huckabee would be very bad for this country, so my reading and considering this article was part of an ongoing concern as he rises in some state-level polls.
I think Huckabee’s supporters should also be scrutinizing this, both those who would be disillusioned in him if this turns out to be true AND his supporters who would pooh pooh it if it’s true. The potentially disillusioned ones because finally something would get them to see that HUCKABEE IS BAD NEWS and the pooh pooh-ers because this is a genuine problem for Hucksterbee’s campaign.

BTW, you are right on the money when you say,
‘...if you want to see Mrs. Bill Clinton in the White House, one easy way to do it is nominate Mike Huckabee. The Fair tax is a ready-made talking point for the Dems.’ (Quoting Mr. Silverback.)
