INDIANAPOLIS - Metro police are investigating an overnight shooting involving Pacers' Guard Jamaal Tinsley. Around 3:40 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the Conrad Hotel at 50 West Washington Street on a report of a shooting.
IMPD spokesman, Sgt. Paul Thompson tells 24-Hour News 8 a group of people, including Jamaal Tinsley, were at a club called "Cloud 9" on West 38th Street. Sgt. Thompson says the group was attempting to leave in 3 different vehicles, all of which belonged to Mr. Tinsley. He says another group had gathered around one of Tinsley's vehicles in the parking lot and there was a confrontation. Sgt. Thompson says when Tinsley's group left the parking lot, they realized they were being followed, so they pulled in to the Conrad downtown instead of going home.
Investigators believe shots were fired from at least one other vehicle at the Conrad striking 2 of Tinsley's vehicles. They say several people were in Tinsley's Rolls Royce which was struck by several bullets. Tinsley told police he was in that vehicle along with passenger, Joey Qatato, Pacers' Equipment Manager, who was shot in both elbows. He was transported to Methodist Hospital in stable condition.
One person in the Tinsley group was arrested for an unrelated warrant out of Georgia. He was identified as 31 year old Antoine Toon.
The suspected weapon is a .223 assault rifle. The suspect vehicles are a gray Chrysler and a dark pick up truck. The incident is still under investigation.
Nothing good can ever happen after 2AM in the morning.
Gang bangers shouldn't be driving Rolls Royces. JMHO.
Is this the same place where Stephen Jackson got in trouble last year???
Translates as 'Beautiful' on the Muslim name list.

In other news, the Cincincatti Bengals contacted Tinsley about the possibility of becoming a football player.
No offense, but was there some point to telling us this, or was it just a point of interest?
