Hey there BellStar;

I clicked on your profile. Anyway, people born in your situation sometimes have problems proving they are US citizens. The “Birth Certificate” sometimes makes the typical low level bureaucrat scratch their heads.

This will likley require persistence and patience. When my Dad finally went to apply for his social security they decided he didn’t exist either - never mind the years of contributions. To make matters more difficult, the court house in the county where he was born had burned when he was a small child - no original records.

Low level clerk types at SS do not believe in solving problems - if it doesn’t fit in their narrow little categories, you have to move up the chain and you have to be persistent.

Which is part of the reason why so many illegal immigrants get SS cards unquestioned. They have the right documents so the clerks don’t question anything.
