Texas A&M beats Texas at Kyle Field
>> The real class of our rivalry is the students.
Amen, brother!
>> the sucking comment...it was meant as a joke. Just a little too much joy.
I understand; truth be told, a little too much sensitivity at this end. Anyway, you never need to apologize to a t-sip ‘cause you know we’ll give it back when we come out on top...
>> I’d love to get Spurrier or some other coach...but we’ll just keep showing up, cheering and yelling.
I sincerely hope y’all get a great coach worthy of your school and your program and your “athletic supporters” :) I really do think you Aggie fans could “school” us in Austin, on how to /faithfully/ support a program, “rain or shine”.
>> Next year we’ll see how it goes back in Austin.
Happy Thanksgiving time to you and yours, and...
SEE YOU NEXT YEAR! HOOK ‘EM HORNS!
Texas Tech.....”I guarantee it” Aggies lost 35-7
Tis the season, right there.

That's a pretty good rant; worthy of my FIL.
Now that you've gotten it off your chest, why don't you let these guys enjoy this little part of life, especially here over the holiday weekend? Or maybe you could go start a special vanity/opinion thread if it's that important to you.
Are you SURE you’re a t-sip— er, I mean a Longhorn fan?????
Pretty CLASSLESS, Dick
Classic example of what’s wrong with today’s fans of college football.
College football programs at major universities more than pay for themselves. Either tuition, or your taxes, would be higher to pay for them without college football.
I don't know the cost of the ticket to the Longhorn/Aggie game yesterday. It cost more than the $45 per seat normally charged.
Let's just say it was $45. With more than 88,000 in the stands, that game raised $4 million in ticket sales. I don't know what was paid by ABC to televise it.
That was one game.
I hope that answered your question.
All said and done, Dick.......good game!
t.u.? Who in the hell is t.u.?
If you look at the economics of UT football you’ll find it is a money maker for the University system. Not only does the program bring in millions in revenues it brings in millions in donations to the University. Millions the taxpayers don’t cough up.
Usually the complaint is that college football players are unpaid pawns in a huge fundraising scheme.
Which is true, although it ignores the fact that millions of kids would love to play college football for the glory and no pay. Only the best get a chance to do so. You don’t need to pay them, and a few leave after three years to become instant millionaires in the NFL.
But any notion that the taxpayer is subsidizing Division I college football is misplaced. It is a HUGE moneymaker for the universities.
>> college football players are unpaid pawns
Heck, that might even be true across the NCAA, once Barry Switzer stopped coaching college ball... :-)
>> Are you SURE youre a [slur redacted]-— er, I mean a Longhorn fan?????
Yep, UT ‘85.
It’s only a game, I keep telling myself.
It’s only a game
It’s only a game
It’s only a game
It’s only a game
It’s only a game....
There is always one in every crowd OKSooner. Your comments were well said, thanks.
I love it!
Yes, except the football programs are big money makers for the universities. TV revenue, merchandise, etc. It’s probably the only part of a government school that actually works.
nah....it take your special tax money to pay off the parasitic nipple people who look to government for jobs, welfare checks, disability payments for drug addiction and alcoholism.
Texas A&M is a land grant university sister...look it up.
As far as A&M football paying off. The money that the program generates through ticket and merchandise pays for several other varsity sports and is one of the few things in a public school that runs in the black.
Of course I'm an Aggie and math with numbers greater than my finger and toes gets kinda tough.
yep. that was embarrassing. But in a weird way the loss last year was worse, cause our defense couldn't prevent the passing game of Tech from just destroying us in the last part of the game. GAWD!!!!
just a little dig on our rival university from Austin. little t-Texas, little u-university.
