Texas A&M beats Texas at Kyle Field
The Aggies break my heart, but God I'm a fan and will go to the Dixie Chicken have a Shiner and celebrate a great win.
I'm glad the Razorbacks beat LSU. Congrats on a great win.
Congratulations, Aggie.
UT didn’t show up to play today (especially the defense).
Of course, as bad as we played today, we still almost came back.
I know what you’re thinking and you’re right, though: almost doesn’t count. I’m just happy it didn’t end up the blowout it could have been.
Then again, “tu”, bad as we played today, still has a better record (Big 12 AND overall) than the Aggies this year.
Coach Frenchy promised y’all better... but then, Coach F’s mouth wrote a LOT of checks this year that his players just couldn’t cash.
I’m thankful our coach won’t be a rookie next year. Meanwhile, you’ll be breaking in... ???
By the way, I root for Texas on the field, but I respect A&M as a great school, a great competitor, and I think Aggie fans are (for the most part) the class of the league.
Which is why I’m surprised and disappointed at your claim that UT won a national championship “by sucking”. That just doesn’t sound like something a true Aggie fan would say.
Again, congratulations to A&M for a well-deserved victory.
I holding my breath....waiting for Kookla and Olie to resign also!
Hook 'em....Snag 'em.....Spear 'em....Waahoo!....Yee ha!!!
And...5 lb bass!
I guess the talkmaster will consider himself an Aggie football fan again.
My prediction: Mac Brown will leave UT for the NFL, possibly Denver.
There are no idiotic posts, just whiny Longhorns.
As far as acting like we've done it before.....Uh....we have beaten you before.
It's just sweeter when we're the underdogs and are about to lose our head coach.
Listen, I love Texas and all things Texans. Sorry about the sucking comment...it was meant as a joke. Just a little too much joy.
Fran has been a disappointment...like all the coaches since Bear Bryant. Aggie fans are like abused children wanting some coach to just show us the "love".
I'd love to get Spurrier or some other coach but I feel like a Boston Red Sox fan.... decades and decades without a national championship...but we'll just keep showing up, cheering and yelling.
Next year we'll see how it goes back in Austin.
You bet!!!
And I am in a good position to know. I grew up in Arkansas, and now live in Texas.
This has been a very good day in football!
Isn’t Texas a public university?
So this is why the government takes my hard earned money at the point of a gun so that college football programs, football stadiums, and public universities can be maintained.

Seems like this college football is kinda of like a religion to some.
The politicians want you to be obsessed with LSU,Arkansas, Texas etc. and other public(government) universities and their football programs . That way you won’t pay attention to how the politicians are robbing us blind and taking our freedoms away and how they are ruining the country.
All government funding at state and federal level to education has to be stopped. That is unconstitutional and against freedom because they are taking money from some of us who think the government should not be funding “education”.
I was there, lower deck, great seats, great fun!
Now I’m hoarse and happy. Both teams played all-out, and it wasn’t over till McGee ran out the clock on that last play. Terrific game.
Perdog,
I pray you are right. No class Mack.

U.T. Law 19??
That was in 1975, but the game date was moved to the Saturday a week after A&M beat Texas for the first time since 1967 on the day after Thanksgiving instead of the first week of November in order to accomodate ABC's TV schedule. It was also played at a neutral site at the Cotton Bowl due to the extra capacity and better lighting there instead of at Kyle Field which only had two decks at the time. Back then ABC had the monopoly contract with the NCAA to televise regular season Division I football games, and games were often rescheduled to allow them to get one of the very limited slots. In 1984 the US Supreme Court ruled that the ABC monopoly violated antitrust laws, so now lots more games get televised at their orginally scheduled dates. I bet A&M would have beaten Arkansas if the game had been played at Kyle Field.
Two of my Christmas gifts came early this year— A&M beat t.u. and Coach Fran is gone!! Whoop!!
Hopefully Bob Davie won’t be leaving the broadcast booth. He was a great defensive coordinator at A&M and Notre Dame, but couldn’t quite hack it as a head coach at Notre Dame.
Way to go Ags! Even a sucky season is redeemed by a win over ut!
admiralsn, those gifts are on my Christmas list too ;-)
