Well, I'm not going to let you. (And I would never stay in a Motel 6, anyway. They wouldn't let me bring two furry kids to the room, last time I tried, many years ago.)
I have some background in bacteriology, so it’s wise not to get me started. :)
As others on this thread have pointed out, obsessing over germs and cleanliness can be counter-productive. There is considerable evidence that excessively clean environments weaken our immune systems sufficiently to leave us vunlerable when the inevitable challenge appears.
I just don’t worry about it much.
I do appreciate my cell phone, however, as I always thought the most disgusting common practice was talking into a public phone, which from a microbiological viewpoint is essentially equivalent to kissing all the recent users on the lips.
