It runs a customized version of Linux. A pity the Operating System is not available from ASUS for download to standard notebooks. On the other hand, the coolest thing about Eee is the weight - and the price.

The ASUS version is a customization of Xandros. You don't have to run it with ASUS X-Window Easy PC. You can convert it to standard Xandros with a full blown KDE desktop, install any other Linux distribution or even Windows XP.
