That’s because it wasn’t there. It’s a normal, healthy thing for adult children to try to get control of the major assets of a mentally incompetent parent, before the parent squanders them and leaves her/himSELF penniless. Joan’s condition is such that she could easily wipe out every penny of assets she has just by getting behind the wheel of a car and killing or maiming somebody. Hopefully the court will now make good on its previous word and put her under legal guardianship. She needs to be supervised 24/7 by people with legal authority to control her actions.
