I came up with an idea for a College Football Playoffs....here's how it works....You take 6 teams (winners of the Big Ten, SEC, Big East, ACC, Big 12 and Pac 10)....You then have a comittee of 20 former coaches and they determine who the best 4 of those six are.

Then on the saturday before New Years we would have a final four of sorts for college football in one of the BCS Bowl cities. They would get to have two games instead of just one.

Then on the saturday after New Years we would have the BCS Cahmpionship game.

It still comes down to money. Your system would eliminate a lot of bowl games and therefore money. The bowl sponsors would never agree.

Here's another idea. Have a 16 team playoff system as they do in 1AA/subdivision or whatever they call it. That would be 15 games. The BCS select 15 bowls to part of the playoff system. The remaining bowls will still have their games but not as part of the playoffs. Each year rotate in one bowl that was not part of the playoff system the previous year and rotate out one. That would maintain all the bowl games and allow each bowl to be part of the playoff system and big money for several years.
