I will be leaving FR. I will no longer post here and likely will no longer check the news here either. I began to post here a few years ago with updates on my attempts and eventual success at founding teenage republican clubs across New Jersey and the surrounding area. I used to run a ping list about the invasion of Islam into Europe. I ran an FR-based operation to try to change public opinion about the Iraq war using letters to the editor and "stats" e-mails. It seems however that as soon as I began to indicate that I was supporting Mr. Giuliani for the Presidency all of that was instantly forgotten and I was branded many of the things I'm sure are crossing many people's minds as they read this. I'm leaving before I get kicked off for my own opinions, I'm not a left-winger who comes to attack the website, I'm a conservative that comes to share my opinions, and if this is a place where certain opinions are muted out because some disagree then good-bye. I always thought it was the Democrats who believed that if you silenced people who disagreed with you, what you were saying became true. What a fool I must be.
Hillary would love for all conservatives to write in their perfect candidate. Looks like you are shaping up to be her toady.
This is my last comment with someone like you--who is so willing to help destroy the CONSERVATIVE IDENTITY of the Republican Party.
If you think the Republican Party just is NOT liberal enough--and isn't moving to the LEFT fast enough--there IS a Republican RINO candidate out there for you.
If you want a more authoritarian, bullying, more intrusive, more controlling, all-powerful, big government knows best, 'Big Brother' type of government,,,,,
headed by an east coast liberal who worked in the Bobby Kennedy campaign, voted for George McGovern, who as mayor publicly distanced himself from Ronald Reagan, who vocally supported and proudly endorsed a far-left, liberal, big-government, socialist, democrat like Mario Cuomo over the Republican candidate for governor (largely because the Republican wanted to cut state income taxes),,,,
who first ran for mayor on the LIBERAL PARTY ticket,,,
and who proudly positioned himself as a gun-grabbing, pro-amnesty, pro-litigation, pro-abortion, gay-rights crusading, condescending, arrogant, and narcissistic LIBERAL, New York pit bull lawyer,,,,
who believes in sanctuary cities, global warming, encouraging more illegal aliens to come here by telling them they are not really illegal, and whose idea of fiscal restraint is using our tax money for Federally-funded abortions,,,,
who has been a public defender of Bill Clinton on more than one occasion,,,
who was SO LIBERAL that he wasnt even invited to the Republican Convention in 96--after refusing to endorse (until the last minute) the Republican candidate opposing Clinton, while saying that (paraphrasing here) "he did not want to waste his time",,,,
and a cousin-marrying, Clinton-apologist--whose personal life is an absolute TRAIN WRECK (and whose blatant, public cheating on his wife almost makes Bill Clinton look like a decent family man and loving husband--if that is even possible).
If you want to abandon and sacrifice traditional, core, bedrock, conservative principles and values--a LIBERAL BULLY like Rudy is the RIGHT MAN AT THE RIGHT TIME!!!!
With that pathetic earlier analogy of yours, I guess you could never understand that liberal Republicans are much more dangerous than liberal democrats,,,,
because liberal Republicans (like JulieAnnie) BLUR THE DISTINCTION between conservatism and liberalism,,,
making LIBERALISM MUCH MORE ACCEPTABLE!!!
The last word is all yours---since I am done wasting my time with someone actually willing to support a man like that. Enjoy Hillary!!!
I’m not a Rudy supporter now. Its the primaries. Should I lose, I will then vote for the best candidate that has a shot at beating the worst candidate.
I hope all of the whiny anti-war socialists do exactly what you propose and vote for Kucinich or the Communists for the “good of their cause”, instead of Hillary. I hope that because it will result in them losing everything, just like your tactic.
You just don’t understand that we don’t have a Parliament. You would rather have 0% than 20%, so that you can skulk around FR and think yourself superior. I'll take 20% today, if that's all I can possibly get, and then I'll keep fighting for more next time.
FYI your sporadic CAPS on EVERY other WORD is SILLY.
Axe me anything, just respeck me and I will do anyfing for you.
I was counting down because she’s a Giuliani supporter and they often get banned off of here. Not fighting. (grin)
I only fight with you, cause i like the making up part.
I resemble that remark!
Anyone with #14 and #15 on their “nada” list is o.k. by me!
Wow. Well said, and thanks for posting many my my thoughts on this so I didn’t have to take the time to do so. One thing I’d disagree with you about though, is that McCain is just as bad. To me, it seems that he is temperamentally unsuited for the job. We’d have to worry about him going postal because someone ‘dissed’ him.
I just went and counted through my list to figure out who you were talking about.
hahaha, and you thought we wuz arguing.
Thought you caught me being not nice didn’t ya. :P You like thinking i’m bad?? You like me being baaaad huh. I know what you like.
True Conservatives don't write whiney opus on the way out. And they don't support leftist infil-traitors into the GOP. Good riddance!
Geesh what a bunch of softies. Was a time when replies to egotistical bio writing opi quitters were 99 to 1 "Good riddance!"
"Please, please, I'm such a good guy. See what I have done? If I am this good a guy, Joodi Tooti must be too. Rooti is so good I can't defend him, so I am going to quit and so should Tooti Fruiti."
Please, let the door hit you on the way out.
no yitbos
BTW, this IS the primary season. THIS is the time to vet our candidates. Rudy is weak in many conservative areas. There is a price to pay for that. YOU mistake honest heated debate to a lack of a welcome mat.
Above all else, FR is a conservative website.....don’t be surprised when posters stick tight to their conservative principles. My loyalty lies there - not with any one candidate I have taken a fancy for. Where are YOUR principles leading YOU?
quite the false dilemna, I say.
No one identified it as a false dilemma on the resulting thread. There are basically 2 conservatives in this race, Thompson and Hunter.

One thing prediction markets are better at their only bias is whether someone can make money trading the futures contracts.

We have not been communicating and it is my job to make myself understood, which I obviously haven’t done. Sorry.
I’m laying here in the dark and I came up with an idea. We must be careful not to say Smith is bigger than Jones because Smith is 6ft. 2in. and Jones weighs 95kg.: two different measures, two kinds of units. Or Jackson is the better athlete because he can run a 9.8 100m dash, while Jameson can only throw the shot put 52ft. 2in. Again, two measures of athleticism, two kinds of units.
One of those athletes is better, one of those men is bigger, but the data (and the units) must be made to match. We’d have to ask, which man is faster? Which man throws further? Who is taller? Who is fatter?
That’s all I meant to say.

Thats a lot different than calling someone a liar.
Ill be proceeding forth with the post that I put up for your peer review as long as it meets the standard of not being a lie. I know you dont like what it says, but thats a different issue. But I will not knowingly move forward with lies. Inaccuracies and missteps, they happen all the time and I welcome corrections.

I forgot to add that this concept was basically convolved into one thread:

LoL
And that, in itself, is a dilemna!
I think anybody who wants to should throw their support behind these two guys...who could be good presidents for the conservative or Republican voter.
Realistically, however, neither of them have caught steam. So that presents conservatives or “true” Republicans with a dilemna...to almost give up the presidency to Barack or a Hillary.
If it was, I'd still be there.
That was in November. Things change.
