(Vanity) What happened to the # of views on threads?

I always liked seeing the number of views. As you said, someone will show up and explain.

methinks it was sacrificed to improve speed and avoid all the database updating everytime a thread was viewed.

There was a thread started about three weeks ago (?) by Jimrob who explained that something had gone sour with the code and that they were working on it. Shortly thereafter was when the server crashed (I think coincidently). He said at the time that he wanted to restore that functionality.

Maybe so. But FR did function many years with # of views listed and never seemed slow (except for the occasional moments).

I think the # of views posted were worth the extra nanoseconds.
