Two illegal immigrants were arrested Sunday after one allegedly drove drunk and was involved in an accident that killed a Lake Elsinore man; the other helped him flee.
According to the Riverside County Sheriffs Department, the initial investigation indicates that Isaac Flores-Palacios, 32, was driving his employers pickup truck west on Lakeshore Drive on Sunday afternoon when a pickup driven by Ben Hernandez, 66, turned left in front of him near Avenue 6. Hernandez was ejected and died at the scene.
Florez-Palacios allegedly left his vehicle and was picked up by his brother-in-law, Javier Delfino-Hernandez, 29, who had been following him. Witnesses described the driver involved in the accident as well as the car that picked him up, which was spotted by a helicopter crew. Ground officers stopped the car and obtained information that identified Flores-Palacios, who had subsequently tried to report his truck as stolen, as the driver involved in the accident; he was detained at a Lake Elsinore address and identified by witnesses.
Flores-Palacios, who lives in Lake Elsinore, was arrested for hit-and-run causing death and driving while intoxicated. Delfino-Hernandez, who lives in Homeland, was arrested for being an accessory; he is also on probation for a previous D.U.I. and had a warrant for his arrest in regard to a deportation order.
Police are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call (951) 245-3300.
1886? And you make fun of our knowledge of history?
Well he was pretty old. ;o)
Excuse me, but what happened to "A crime is a crime"?
I guess I missed the memo which told me which of our laws it is okay for noncitizens to break.
Someone who comes here legally (an immigrant) isn't breaking the law by being here. No problem. Welcome, learn the language, be a productive member of our society.
Someone who is here illegaly (an illegal alien) already has broken the law, regardless of their motive for being here. They should go home, come back legally if they really want to be here.
Please do not fall victim to the MSM parsing of phrase which muddles the difference.
So you are saying that a person who crossed the border and is working at a productive job is the moral equivalent of a murderer or rapist and should be treated a such?
I knew it was a typo Dane, I just couldn’t keep from teasing you. I would like to know why you are so sympathetic to people who are breaking our immigration laws?
Those living outside the law often reason they have nothing to lose by ignoring the law altogether.
We aren't discussing moral equivalency, but respect for our nation and our way of life. Our laws ore part of that.
There are plenty of murderers and rapists who are here illegally. If they were not here illegally, it can be argued, then they would not have been able to commit their other crimes within our borders.
In a nutshell, if immigration laws were enforced, we would not have an illegal alien criminal class here who are not just criminal by virtue of being here.
Google MS 13. It isn't just jobs scrubbing toilets that brings them in.
Well if you wish to demonize people who contribute to the US economy by building shelter or cleaning toilets and their major crime is crossing the border to do it, that's your perogative.
Personally I would like to see immigration laws changed so that people who want to do good honest work can do so and contribute to the growth of the US economy and not be patronized by the hillary left or demonized by the buchannan pitchforkers.
Google La Costra Nostra. Using your logic it seems that anybody with an Italian surname is a mafiaoso.
Leave the broad brush stereotyping and go after the real violent criminals, but alas you can't.
I have no problem with legal immigration, but these people, as you well know, are breaking so many laws it is hard to feel anything but disgust.
And where have I promoted such things? I haven't, and am all for English immersion and assimilation, but that gets all lost in what I would call xenophobic hate.
But you go ahead and push these people into the bosom of hillary and that is what you are doing with your rhetoric.

contribute?....sometimes I guess people just dont see it.
Its not that they crossed the border....its that they did it ...one ..two..three....ILLEGALLY.
As for contribute...
Read this for consideration:

The Immigration Bureau needs an overhaul. It shouldnt take qualified people so long to get a visa. But...that is no excuse to come illegally.
Daily we have drunk illegals involved in wrecks on the freeways, often resulting in the deaths of Americans. The illegals run off and usually aren't found.
A friend of ours in West Texas was killed recently by an illegal driving a semi - he ran off after plowing through a stop sign and killing a 40 year old husband and father of two kids.
Sorry to hear that...and people wonder why?
Its going to get worse if we dont do something about it.
And most of America knows this. Why do you think so many are against the drivers licenses for illegals idea?
That is an excellent article, thanks for the link
My pleasure....it kinda makes one think.
Maybe I should have mentioned Al Qaida
or the Red Brigade
or Shining Path
or Hamas
or Abu Sayef,
or any of a number of socialist and criminal groups worldwide who send people here illegally.
A nation which does not control its borders will not survive. Period.
So spare me your anticipation of 'race bias' which is a prejudice in itself.
My beef is with EVERYONE who is here illegally, wherever they are from.
When they commit other crimes, those crimes could have been prevented if the border were controlled and our laws enforced in the first place.
They are a huge drain on the economy, and it will only get worse. Does anyone really think employers are going to keep them on once they have to pay actual wages/benefits/taxes on them? They will dump the illegals quicker than they dump their records when INS comes around.
I hope no one you know is ever killed by an illegal. Unfortunately, I CANNOT SAY THE SAME.
