ARod wants to play for a team that "can win multiple championships" so long as he is the highest paid player in baseball and has his rear kissed daily. If faced with a choice between playing for a winner or getting the biggest contract ever, is there any doubt which he will choose? History says he'll go for the extra buck -- just as he did when he signed with Texas.

Yup. If the Red Sox sign him over Lowell it will be a disaster.

He is trying to get Boston intersted because I bet he is starting to realize that the bidding process is different without Boston or NY in the mix. Arod will be taking a pay cut.

I don't know...the Red Sox are the only type of team with a chance to mold him into their way of doing things. If he goes to a team where he is expected to be the big star and team leader, they will never win anything.
The Red Sox are a perfect fit for him, IMHO - anywhere else he'll just be the big fish in a small pond, piling up 50 HR, 150 RBI seasons for 78-84 fourth place teams.

A-Rod is for show, but when it really counts, say playoff’s, he has fades away into A-Not’s disappearing acts.

I am not an A-Rod fan even a little bit and I really hope that the Sox won’t pursue him. That being said he wouldn’t be the first high profile, arrogant “superstar” sports figure to ever be adopted into a Boston team and suddenly turn around. Maybe he’s already woken up to the fact that ego will never get him a World Series Championship.

That is ARod’s legacy — great stats, great talent, doesn’t understand the concept of playing a role on a team to help the team win, regardless of what his role is. Making top dollar is his no. 1 priority.
At some point, a “winner” would settle for $20 million to play for the right team instead of chasing $25 million to play for a second division team. ARod isn’t one of those winners.

Mark my words. If Boston is dumb enough to sign A-Rod, they might as well reinstate the Curse of the Bambino.
A-Rod may have impressive individual performance, but a team player he is not. Anybody remember Dick Allen? A-Rod isn't quite that bad, but he's working on it.

Jeez, we had enough trouble with "Nancy" Drew this year. I love my champion Red Sox just the way they are thanks. A-girl can be somebody else's problem.

Maybe he figures it will start a bidding war and the Yankees
figure they will have to give him what he wants:
$300 million.
...a year...

Onlyin May Rod can go take a leap.
Not in fenway, EVER!
How about he try to hit over .100 in the playoffs and then come talk to us.

I hope it’s not mutual. A-Rod chose to sleep with the enemy and that cannot be forgiven.

What’s with the Drew hate? What “trouble” did we have with him? The guy really came through in the playoffs and he’s a member of the 2007 World champs. Cut the guy some slack.
