No, I was trying to stay up as late as I could so as to get back on schedule faster. Sleep was not going to be a problem, but I didn’t want to be wide awake at 2 AM local time.
Beard, you mean.
I heard there was some guy who never needed sleep. 1800’s I think.
Do you think that’s possible?
Welp, while I’m listening to global warming making a mess out of the already messy Midwest, then move on to New England, I need to say goodnight.
I have a date. I’m going to the church and read a Christmas story to folks as they are eating their pot luck Christmas supper. And no, it’s not the previously posted story, but one I might consider posting on Christmas Eve.
Me will probably pass on food. The Nausea flag is up.
Good night. Hope you’ll feel better soon!
Yes, but it all depends on how long you let the flavours meld.
If you waited long enough, the slobber would seep through your beard until you felt it on your chin.
The problem (problem? LOL) with poutine is that no one ever waits long enough for it to cool, resulting in many fried (human) tongues.
If, if, if, a person can control themselves, and give the dish a good 5 minutes, bliss without punishment is awaiting them.
I read that as reading their pork luck story.
LOL, have a good night Sis!
I hope you feel good.
Lack of sleep will kill you faster than lack of food.
That said, it may be possible for some unfortunate souls to go without sleeping. Certain quirks of technology suggest themselves;
We actually have two brains. Separated by the corpus collosum, these cerebral halves normally communicate and cooperate, and of course stay in the same sleep/wake cycle.
Epilepsy patients, and others, who may have had their corpus collosums severed, could theoretically have different processes going on in the two halves. The sleep cycle is pretty basic, however, having much of its function controlled by chemicals.
I should also point out that the body needs rest as well.
To be quiescent for hours is not easy for most people. When I have sleepless periods, I remain at rest, and write books in my mind. This is probably why I don't dream much.
Thank you, Professor.
I have had, (earned?), that nickname at least twice before.
The rule for a functional and descriptive nickname is that when you use it without otherwise indicating which person you mean, everyone knows already.
But I encountered "Frittatensuppe" in Vienna -- beef stock soup with thinly sliced pancakes. Wonderful!
Interesting. I compose things too.... not books, but depending on the circumstances letters, technical designs or standards, bagpipe tunes, or other...
Awwwwww.
You’re a virtual Professor Higgins!
“Yes, you are!”
That looks and sounds good.
Have you eaten yet?
Dinner is still a ways off. Chili, I'm told. American food to welcome me home.
Beginning to fade... be back tomorrow.
Enjoy your dinner Sion.
I’m going to eat too.
Sleep soon.
I know I will.
:-)
It gets to paper eventually. First, I compose a mental screenplay. Over and over again, I set the stage, call for action, and monitor the results.
When I am satisfied with the way the characters interact, and the action sequences, then I sit down like a movie critic and write the details.
This works for me. Your mileage may vary.
There is also a review, rewrite, polish and print phase. That's when it gets to paper. I like the feel of a printed document, and I reread and rewrite from that document.
As I find errors or awkward phrasing, I change the memory in the computor. Slowly it gels into something I can take pride in.
Most of my writing gets very little revision, primarily because I've done the prewrite finagling already.
(Poems are different -- but I've already described that.)
Good night! I hope your Christmas story is a roaring success!
My Brownies have an event tomorrow, so I’ll be in and out. Anoreth’s date to see “Beowulf” was overruled by the young man’s parents. Now they’re waiting to see “I Am Legend” whenever it opens.
