“he’s got to do something with the other eleven months”

My guess would be panhandling (tour guiding) around “sacred” pagan sites during the warm months. The costume could also just be a way to pick up hot wiccan chicks—like Sibil Leek— who’ll provide you with a warm place to stay indoors during the late winter months....

“...he probably plays Warcraft.”

If so, he has the look of it down. (Were any oaks killed in the making of Warcraft?)

What I wonder is whether his work release program allows him to have a spike on the bottom of his stick to make it easier to pick up the paper trash left by tourists.

I think they’d be appalled at turkey or chicken franks, but they would really be amazed at the quality of modern all-beef or pork-water-beef sausages.

I’ve made (and formulated) sausages, including Bryan hotdogs, and I still like ‘em. What goes into ‘em is pretty good stuff - probably greatly exceeding the standards of Thuringian sausage makers.

Brats, good Sheboygan brats, good cold beer, cheese, apples and cherry Cider on a good warm afternoon on a grassy bluff with a clear view overlooking Green Bay.

An alternative to having to portage water up slope would be the natural tendency of a porous material to “wick” water up. When water tables in the winter would rise - the mound would absorb the moisture and would remain wetted throughout the year.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had not considered that possibility, and had to do some research. As I understand it, the "wicking" or capillary effect causes water to rise a fixed distance above the actual water table. The distance depends on the size of the capillaries. The level of the wicked up water would fall with the water table. How could this water be accessed?

I guess it's time to but some hydrology texts, and maybe conduct some backyard experiments with a pile of chalk (fortunately, here in Atlanta there won't be any interference from rainfall).
