OK, just so you know how to do this, if you ever have to count fence posts/slats/bricks/etc. with a partner, you count off, let’s say, 100 and have your partner hold that post. Then you count the next 100, and have your partner move up. That way, if you lose count, you stay in the last 100 and don’t have to recount from the beginning.

I was waiting for one person to go one way and the other go the other way, each counting half the pickets in half the time and then add the two. If it didn’t work after 2 tries, then you’re no worse off than another team after one try.

The girls got eliminated because the driver wouldn’t ask for directions.

I thought of that same thing except I was thinking do it every 50th post. One person would touch each post and say the number out loud and the other one would be responsible for keeping track of it in increments of 50. I was impressed how that one guy had the presence of mind to be able to go back and subtract the gates or whatever.
