I was raised near Baltimore in the fifties, and in general there was no love lost
between the blacks and the whites.

We were raised to respect black people, but seperation of the two races was like one of the Commandments.
All of the white people I knew have left the Baltimore area, and I understand the whites who
remained get along famously with the blacks, but the way you are raised remains with you for life.

I still don't believe the races should mix.

I find it interesting that mainstream blacks complain about present-day segregation when they’re the ones who are doing it. Jet Magazine and Black Entertainment Television haven’t survived for all these years because their ratings are bad and nobody’s buying.
