OH THE HUGE MANITEE!!!
Actually, I have a LOT of respect for Joe Torre. He knows how to motivate his players and get the best out of them. Where Billy Martin used fire to get the team going, Torre used common sense to make a winner of the Yankees.
I hope he can do the same in LA. Hope he is ready for the Hollywood treatment.
Not. My team won that game.
And I wasn’t guarding him, I was a center, he was a guard.
Satan wears pinstripes and plays in the Bronx.
The problem was, Torre hasn’t motivated his players in years. They players became as lackadaisical as their manager.
At Torre’s age, I don’t see him having another run like he did. Mattingly is disappointing. He was given the same interview shot as Girardi. Joe imppressed with his preparedness during the interview. Mattingly should have asked for a manger’s job in Triple A.
As a Yankee fan, I would rather see Mattingly come in with some experience than get booed if things didn’t work out as a rookie manager.
A-Rod will be playing in Southern California next year, the only question is will it be with the Dodgers or the Angels.
Yankees West
This will make for some great match-ups between the Mets & Dodgers (not that they aren't always great match-ups). Torre used to manage the Mets; current Mets manager Willie Randolph was a coach under Torre with the Yankees...
With or without Torre, the Dodgers are a fourth place club in the National League West next year pending any moves in the off season.
Old Brooklyn Dodgers fans would take great offense at that statement.
You can say that again! I can hear practically my entire Brooklyn born and raised family rolling over in their graves.
