However, just reading the crime logs for that general area online, would have your head spinning.
It seems nearly all the violent assault-type crimes, DWI and public drunkeness violations are hispanic surnames. This, in a state like Virginia so far from the southern border!
So much for diversity! :-)

It's not as bad in Leesburg. Fairfax, though, has plenty of illegals. But, when we used to live down in Prince William, folks knew not to venture down to Route 1 at night.
The Route 1 corridor in eastern Prince William is so heavily infested with crime and poverty. It's also occupied primarily by "minorities"--more or less Hispanics now. The schools in that area are terrible, banks closed branches on Route 1 due to weekly robberies, etc.
I have to admit: Northern Virginia in 2007 is a world of a difference from the rest of Virginia. Even here in Charlottesville...it's totally different from Fairfax or Prince William.
