So thats what that is! I've seen it a few times but never tried it. Are they tart or sweet?

I'm surprised that combining just those three ingredients will eventually produce something edible and or agreeable LOL :)

Wow. I remember seeing an old movie, on TCM possibly, about the murder associated with this building. IIRC, it was titled the Girl in the Red Velvet Swing.

It is quite good and sweet of course with all that sugar and will keep forever, so they say.

I have seen the manufactured stuff but had no idea how it was made until today when Pili produced the home made variety which was delicious.

She gave me the recipe and told me that apples were just as good or even better as the membrillo fruit is much harder.

when it is done you give a slice about half an inch thick and about 4 inches long to each person and you will have plenty for left overs.

I am going to try and make it myself tomorrow - so will give you a commentary.
