"A good article about our future coach......:-)......: "

Thats a possibility that has concerned lots of folks down this way. I told ya, weeks ago, we like him and want to keep him. He is smart and steely, a gentleman and good looking. He is a winner, 30-5 (whats not to like?). Combine those positive qualities with his quiet confidence and you have someone who is extremely appealing to many of the women in this area. Even women who are not necessarily big sports fans have started paying attention. LOL

Big Blue may eventually lure him away but we will not make it easy .

He’s done a fine job, Darlin’, but had that nutty but successful play to win the game against Auburn gone astray many of the adoring fans would have been calling for his scalp, a simple and short field goal having been both a safer and wiser choice, especially with the time situation being what it was.

LOL. True that! I think it was after that gme that a local conservative magazine ran this poll:

Which word best describes LSU football coach Les Miles?
Crazy 4%
Genius 8%
Lucky 30%
All three 56%

Results: A lucky, crazy genius

LOL

Excerpts from the local sports pages:

Jacob Hester, a Nick Saban recruit, clutched the ball with both of his big hands as he went airborne over the goal line for the winning 1-yard touchdown run with 86 seconds left.

Then in the locker room after LSU’s 41-34 comeback victory over Alabama, Hester gave the game ball to Miles, the man who has coached him and trusted him more than anybody else for the final season of his college career.

“He’s been through so much,” Hester said, “so much scrutiny and so many people saying he didn’t deserve this job, that he wasn’t the best coach for it.

“I think tonight he really proved that he’s a great coach — one of the best in the country.”

-snip-

“We kept hanging in there and kept fighting and kept struggling,” Miles said, “and found a way to win.”

Hester said the Tigers wanted badly to win for Miles, and teammates agreed their emotional investment in that goal probably contributed to perhaps the most mistake-filled victory they’ll ever achieve.

Miles, nonetheless grateful for the game ball, said he wasn’t sure his players would be so fond of him upon returning home to begin correcting their errors.

“That’s as many mistakes as I’ve seen in a football game in my life,” Miles said, speculating he’s had entire seasons as a coach with fewer.

“I promise you this: That’ll never happen again. I promise you that. Our football team will be coached very aggressively from this point forward.”

In war the difference between a court martial and a hero medal is often paper thin. Similarly, in football the difference between a living legend and a fired coach is sometimes just the result of a bad bounce or two. Over a long time these wouldn’t matter. Unfortunately for coaches and soldiers, a long time is usually not available.

I can’t argue with a word he said. Wouldn’t want to go through this week’s practice, though.

This is an interesting article and supports sharky's opinion of LSU's former coach.

Miles, Saban right for LSU at time

oooooh, brrrrrr..... that is just tooo cold, toooo soon.

Its not supposed to cool off that much down here at least not for another day then down to the upper 30s.

I went to lunch with a client today, we ate outside in the courtyard, sat out there for about 2 hours and it was darned near perfect. Sunshine, blue sky about 80.
