Put Dice-K on the mound and all of a sudden the Red Sox can not get a hit.

Yes, but they also put up six zeros to end the game on Saturday/Sunday. Since Varitek grounded into a double play in the fifth inning in Game 1, the Sox have been offensively impotent.

They could have Earnest Byner fumble the first pitch. LOL

Its magic. Put Dice-K on the mound and all of a sudden the Red Sox can not get a hit. This BS has been going on all season.

Yup. My husband is pacing around the family room muttering "The Red Sox are toast... that's the season." They've played progressively worse since Game 1, and it was all over once Gagne took the mound in Game 2.

Cleveland is doing the things at the plate they need to win, the Red Sox are not. Cleveland gets a man on base and they do something. The Sox don’t.

As an aside though, this home plate umpire is just God awful. He’s screwing both pitchers royally.

They might and for what? The front office goes out and gets a coveted relief pitcher who then falls flat on his face down the stretch. Tito has to try and rescue him if he can. Sat. night the Sox had chances and couldn’t do it. Call it bad situational hitting, call it baseball. His choices in the 11th were Gagne or Lopez who are both substandard and a starting pitcher. Some choice. If Schilling could learn to throw a damned curveball and he and his catcher stop trying to load up on fastballs to a fastball hitting team then maybe they are up 2-0. Francona isn’t perfect but he did the job better than just about anyone else this year. He didn’t sign Drew or Lugo, he didn’t make the trade for Crisp or Gagne, that’s all on Theo.
