NOTES: This is the first time since the start of the three division era that the two LCS series have each matched the two best records in their league (96-66). Computer baseball sim Imagine Sports/Diamond Mind Baseball ran the 2007 ALCS 1,000 times, and the Red Sox won 59% of the time. If the Red Sox won game 1, they won the series 72.5% of the time, and if Cleveland won, the Indians won 59% of the time.
Great service for cheap bux, that MLB Audio. Been a subscriber for the last couple years. Living on the other side of the country, it’s REAL hard to get WRKO or WEEI on my radio.
Last night, though, I got to watch it on Fox’s New York affiliate along with about 100 other Sox fans, flying a trans-con Jet Blue flight from Boston to Oakland. I kinda felt bad for the non-sports fans on the flight...

Nah, not really!
I’ll have to look it up, thanks. Was it your local Fox affiliate? (I’m in Northern California.)
Yes it was. Fox Boston.
Thanks! I do appreciate that. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see anything past the national Fox broadcast.
I came up empty trying to find anything else. There were vids of Pap after the Abgeks win but that was it. But maybe something will be loaded in the next few days. It is a must see!
I found WCVB’s coverage - all celebrations, but Papelbon’s dance is part of it.

Byrd may be too radioactive for the team to exercise the option because it looks like his HGH explanation is falling apart.
I have the same problem living on the other side of 128. Whatever genius thought the flagship station for the Red Sox should be a 5000 Watt AM candle (on the same frequency as a 50,000 Watt Quebec clear channel station) needs his head examined. Oh yeah, the same geniuses that thought that pissing off the most popular talk show host in New England was great personnel move.
ESPN radio carries the World Series nationally
Boston area: 890 and 1400 (also try 1410 Hartford,
1050 NYC, 790 Prov.). WRKO should have the games
but I think I heard Red Sox network stations are getting
the ESPN feed instead.
WRKO might put games 1 and 6, which fall on Wednesdays,
on WEEI 850 instead (tougher to pick up at my workplace,
and I work nights; games 3 and 4 are on weekends so I’ll
watch them on TV, and I got the night off for game 2)
It’s poss. 680 AND 850 will both carry the games (unless
850 has Exciting Celtics Basketball). I think game 7
of last night’s ALCS was on both frequencies.
Info is at site called ballparks.com. See pic below, an artist's rendition from HOK builders. The current Sox ownership did a lot of renovations to the old park, though. No word on if you still have to crane your neck to see home plate from sections 1-7. "Monster Seats" (and monster prices), right field box seats, "Game on!" bar & restaurant, a courtyard of food vendors (kind of like the street behind Camden Yards?) etc.
Anyway, new Fenway would have looked like this:

And what side of 128 is that? I've been spending a lot of time in the Brockton-Dedham-Needham corridor over the past couple months (dying parent plus house cleanup), and I can't recall having problems with either WRKO or WEEI when driving around.
From inside the house in Brockton, however, reception was pretty spotty, but as long as I can remember, radio reception outside WBZ and the Brockton stations was spotty on AM.
RR, any idea what the seating capacity would have been if built?
wow - must have been pretty tired when I wrote this - should be MARK BELLHORN.
Well actually yes, I thought the Sox would win if the manager did his job, he almost blew it. Many bad decisions (Not in retrospect, I said so in advance) but the talent came through in spite of some poor decisions.
What is more important, leaving in Dice K so he could quality for a win or winning the game?
In spite of it all I expect another championship, Colorado is a good team but not as good as Cleveland or Boston.
Go Sox!!!
