NOTES: This is the first time since the start of the three division era that the two LCS series have each matched the two best records in their league (96-66). Computer baseball sim Imagine Sports/Diamond Mind Baseball ran the 2007 ALCS 1,000 times, and the Red Sox won 59% of the time. If the Red Sox won game 1, they won the series 72.5% of the time, and if Cleveland won, the Indians won 59% of the time.
Miami started it with waving the hankies.
What Torre did this year was amazing. He had no starting pitching to start the year and the team started slow. They were the best team after June 1st and came very close to winning the division. Pitching did them in vs Cleveland. Roger The Old Whore broke down and Wank just sucked.
He should win the Cy Young.
guess Joe Castiglione won’t be reading the words of
A. Bartlett Giamatti tonight at least...
(following the lead of Ken Coleman, he finishes
the season by reading...)
—It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops.—
Fenway is the only place Lugo hits: .286 with a .745 OPS. That's why it was so important to get this back to Fenway.
Torre is a class act. He’ll be an asset to the team that hires him.
I listen to a lot of radio, sometimes to WFAN in NY. Heard Torre a lot.
He was always a smooth, classy gentleman, easy manner, shows humor, handled all of it gracefully, never dodged a hard question or BS’d. If they were lousy,he said so, without throwing anyone under the bus.
great guy. I really like the guy.
I think they really made a mistake.
Hnadling the media/pressure is a huge part of NY/Boston baseball.
Most of them fail at that, you know?
Hankies? LoL
absolutely
Joe Torre is magic... baseball magic.
...Mo walked Kevin Millar.
If the left field foul pole was moved 10 more degrees to the left, Millar would of hit 45 home runs a year.
Wish he could learn not to pick his nose so often
BRB. I hafta go fold laundry... I’m a girl.
LOL!
It goes back to the ‘50’s at Ivy League football games.
Yeah but we have the Pats to carry us into February then right after that pitchers and catchers report!
Drew is 2-2 on reaching base!
JD Drew double
How often did we not hear that?
Bang some more over the next couple weeks, all is forgiven
Who is that man and what did they do with Nancy Drew?
