Interesting Item:
Daniel Bard (Sox 1st round pick in 2006 draft) pitched two hitless innings and struck out three Sunday in his relief appearance for Honolulu of the Hawaiian Winter League.
Bard has allowed just one run and struck out seven in 6 2/3 innings for the Sharks, though he has walked four. The 2006 first-round pick finished with a 47/78 K/BB ratio in 75 innings in the low minors this year. The Red Sox are a long way from giving up on him, but he’s going to fall well off radar soon unless he begins throwing more strikes.
Meanwhile, the Sox could have taken Joba Chamberlain with that pick. Way to go Theo!!!!
