Congressman Tom Tancredo, one of 42 voting “present,” in a press release after the vote cited the resolution as "an example of the degree to which political correctness has captured the political and media elite" in America. He further stated: “I am not opposed to commending any religion for their faith.

So why didn't he vote "Nay" with the explanation that he would not vote for any legislation singling out any one particular religion at the expense of the others.

I mean, he's right, but why vote present and not put his vote in Nay column, instead of this 376 - 0 crap.

I agree with you. The “Present” vote is a load of crapolla. One must stand for something or they stand for nothing. This truth is apparent in the 376-0 vote count.
