Here's the Reason Why All Guns Are Going to be Prohibited
Libertygunrights ^

Posted on 10/05/2007 3:39:13 PM PDT by processing please hold

This report hopes to assist in protecting the right of the people to keep and bare arms, individually and collectively, for the safety of the individual, and for the safety of the nation. There are certain fundamental laws and principles over which public officials have no authority to alter or to deny--not even if they profess to have acquired the 'consent of the governed'. In this case, prohibiting possession and use of arms is not possible, because those rights which have been endowed upon man by the Creator are unalienable, and nor revocable by mankind. The purpose of this report is to show how 'consent of the governed' has become abused, and how government officials in the lead state with the help of change agents had set out to destroy the essential and unalienable right of the people to keep and bare arms, by setting into motion unauthorized and unlawful procedures and then pretend that they operated under the 'consent of the governed'.

“should felons have the right to carry guns”

If it is illegal for a “felon” to carry a gun, the government will just make every crime a felony. This is already happening. Take a look at restraining orders or hate speech legislation for some examples. Then, the government will invent new crimes and make them felonies too. Take a look at seatbelt laws, smoking laws, and transfat legislation for some examples.

When you get out of jail, you have paid your debt to society. You regain all the rights you had before your crime. Voting rights included, even if a few ex-cons were to vote for somebody we don’t like. If you don’t believe the perpetrators of some crimes should ever have a gun again, then give those criminals the death penalty.

As a corollary, if the “Mentally Ill” are not allowed to carry a gun, then eventually everybody who has ever gone for treatment at a mental hospital or a physiatrist/psychologist/counselor will lose their gun rights. How do you prove you aren’t crazy? Next, the government will make psychiatric evaluation mandatory (perhaps under a socialist medicine system), and it will find that nobody is mentally fit enough to carry a gun (except those in power and their enforcers). This is already happening. Take a look at some of the stories here on FR about doctors that ask children if their parents own guns and if they “seem violent”.

Keep in mind that the people that want to commit crimes with firearms will commit crimes without them if need be, and these same people do not go through the normal channels to get their weapons anyway. They rarely go to mental health professionals for treatment, either. Also, the crimes themselves are already illegal, and you will never stop evil from occurring no matter how many freedoms you give up. Gun laws only affect non-criminals, and the goal is to remove guns from legal use in hopes to make them more difficult to obtain for use in crimes. Take a look at illegal drugs to see how well this philosophy works in practice.

This is all Dictatorship 101. Useful idiots who are fooled by bad ideas that look good on paper will open the door for 1984. You were warned.

I am sure you have heard of the “Law of unintended consequences”

The goat mess in Iraq and Afghanistan soon Iran has created a substantial population of Veterans again..

We have always been a problem for those in Power..
All that “America First” stuff drives them mad.

With a new crop of Veterans the country will soon slew to the right faster than the Turret on an M1 Tank.

That will not be good news for the NWO types or the Socialist types.

Disarm the American People?...

Heck the NWO antigun people lost Brazil in a national referendum what last year or the year before. They took Australia, Canada but are now in the process of losing both to the Pro Gun, Pro Liberty majority. I see England beginning the long road back from Loundinstan and gun ownership will be a part of it. Germany already has their young people stomping hell out of the Muslim Turks there as well.

It is only all going to get more interesting.

I cheated and read the last chapter of the book.. I won’t give it away here but the pro liberty people will like the ending...the NWOs will not... darn maybe I gave it away by accident? LOL

robertpaulsen said: Personally, I would shoot for stronger language - something along the lines of "the people have the right to keep and bear arms".

But without explicit language to the contrary, that would only protect "sporting purposes", wouldn't it? All the "reasonable" restrictions in Kalifornia law would remain.

Nope. It only means that if you're not in a well regulated state militia the second amendment does not protect your RKBA.

Thanks, sorry for the confusion on my part.

Millions of Californians keep and bear arms legally and constitutionally, even though the California state constitution doesn't protect that right.

Are those millions of Californians now criminals in the eyes of the state?

When it comes to gun control, Rudy is JUST THE MAN FOR THE JOB!!!

From the New York Times, March 8, 1994----
Democratic lawmakers praised the Mayor's push for gun control. "It would be great if Mayor Giuliani could become the point Republican pushing comprehensive gun control legislation," said Representative Charles E. Schumer, the Brooklyn Democrat who is the leading proponent of handgun control in the House of Representatives.

A liberal bully President Giuliani and Chuckie Schumer will have LOTS of chances to work together in a bi-partisan manner on this and many other issues. /s

If you feel that this country does NOT have enough gun control...and you want to INCREASE the chances of more restrictions on gun ownership,,,

a LIBERAL like Rudy is the RIGHT MAN AT THE RIGHT TIME!!

The military may advise the local police, but may not take an active role in police work. The 1878 Posse Comitatus Act prohibits Federal military personnel from acting in a law enforcement capacity within the United States, except where expressly authorized by the Constitution or Congress.

An exception to this would be National Guard units while under the authority of the governor of a state.

The U.S. Constitution allows it. It's only a federal law that prohibits it.

The John Birch Society has been correct in their predictions about what was coming to the US much more than they have been wrong. I think they are frightenly accurate. You can continue on denying what’s coming, that’s fine with me.

tpaine said: "The above type of 'majority rule' socialism is a strange political disease ..."

I agree. Our unalienable right to defend ourselves with arms did not originate through majority vote, nor can it be eliminated by majority vote.

The Kalifornia Constitution assures us that "all people are by nature free and independent and have inalienable rights." Despite the lack of mention of a creator of our nature, who would suggest that majority rule can have any impact on our nature?

#1: "All" guns will never be prohibited here in the U.S. (In fact, our side is winning the vast majority of political/legal battles these days).

#2: If by freak chance they ever are prohibited that prohibition would last about 5 minutes. ...or until the first few public figures got lead implants.

#3: If you ever want to be taken seriously learn the difference between "bear" and "bare."

Yes I have.

I like the way you said that. :)

Aren't the Caribbean nations falling like dominoes under new gun control laws?(I wish I had all my old 2nd bookmarks)

"As for me, I have a personal policy of skipping over text that looks like it was written in the early 60’s by the John Birch Society. Especially when half the words are underlined for emphasis."

You noticed that also? My radar went up at the first (of many) mentions of The New World Order. Creepy conspiracy babble.

The effort is in hibernation right now. But my tag line offers an opportunity for people to sign-up so that the effort can re-start quickly.

One key need is to institute a fund-raising mechanism in readiness for the next attempt.

Thank you very much. I asked because of this I found from the security council from 1997. (The handwriting is where someone added their own opinion.)

"But without explicit language to the contrary, that would only protect "sporting purposes", wouldn't it?"

Well, you could add, "...for defense of self and state".

If you feel the need to be specific, Delaware has a good one: Article I, § 20. “A person has the right to keep and bear arms for the defense of self, family, home and State, and for hunting and recreational use.”

robertpaulsen said: Given that, are you looking forward to the day when the second amendment is incorporated and these yahoos get to define "arms"? Or "keep"? Or "bear"?

Do you wonder why some might find your fear irrational, given that the federal "assault weapons" ban has already done what you fear "incorporation" would do? You act as if the individual states were free to ignore the restrictions on ugly rifles. That is simply not so.
