It means that people like their iPods, heh. I recently took an engineering course over the summer, and saw a large ratio of Mac users (I’d like to believe they were using it because of the OS and some of the specialized software, but chances are they were using them because they were “cool” ).

That’s what brought me to mac. Ran out and bought a powerbook when Mac OS X came out so I didn’t have to deal with linux rpm’s any more nor contort myself putting solaris on my intel box. It was a full blown unix platform I could use for software development plus it had a nice UI to handle all those multimedia things I wanted to happen with no effort.

I was very likely in a class like this a short while ago. I heard a number of my classmates raving about the ease and security of the things. I saw some of the ads making what I thought were totally outlandish claims like no spyware or viruses--things that I've had a HUGE problem with while running Windows. Long story short after visiting an Apple store once or twice I know have a 24" iMac at home and white MacBook for everything else.
Suffice it to say, OS X which I had never even considered a few years ago has driven me from Windows forever. I'll never go back.
