What is it about?
They fall into a category, along with Plato’s Republic, More’s Utopia, Bacon’s Utopia, Augustine’s City of God, and a truckload of novels from the Civil War to the present of utopic and dystopic novels. BNW and 1984, and Skinner’s work, appeared about the same time, as did Rand’s Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged. Add Asimov’s Foundation series. It’s a fascinating and very popular genre since it all seems somewhat plausible and prophetic yet is impossible in various ways.
