Back in northern Illinois my mother worked at a camp for juvenile delinquent teenage boys which was located in a big forest. There were many big rattle snakes and worse should there be a dry spell during the summer they would come out of the rocks seeking water. At least that is what we were told. One time the staff discovered some malicious little jerks had killed a major rattle snake and were keeping the head to stick somebody with. I don’t know if that would have worked or not.
Hah! Are you old enough to remember juvenile delinquents? The crimes that shocked society were like stealing hubcaps, writing bad checks, driving up and down their girlfriend’s street sounding a siren, and in our town boys gathering to smoke and play their car radios loud in the hospital zone was a biggie.
