I just realized something. That idiot commentator called that an eastern diamondback, which don't even inhabit Oregon. That snake was an adult PYGMY rattler, which can grow to about 20" or so. The coloration, lack of an arrohead-shaped head and only a single button rattle give it away. Their venom is actually a good bit more potend than diamondbacks but the small venom gland size of the snake tends to even things out.
