Not only are sales down and construction down, the prices sub contractors are making now are also down to the point of pressuring wages lower and many people out of work.

We are talking about recession here. There will soon be no money available for anything because the circulation and availability of money has literally stopped.

Do you two still have your leftover batteries and supplies saved up from Y2K?

Tell me about it. I tried to pay for gas earlier this week and they no longer accepted credit cards. I had to give the guy my last 10 head of cattle.

Try telling that to the vultures here hoping for a housing plunge.

It DOES affect ALL OF US. Things don’t happen in a vaccuum.

Let's hope not. For me the last *real* recession was back in the early 70's. My family was a West TN cotton farming family that wasn't particularly affected. However, I still remember the highly educated managers and engineers coming up to our house 2-3 evenings per week with hat in hand - looking for jobs as farm laborers.

A *real* recession is pretty ugly alright!

The only upside is that hopefully many illegal aliens will GTFO now that their big money construction jobs are shot. Or they should go back to picking vegetables and other agriculture pursuits ... I like my meat fruit and vegetables American grown and great if illegals do that.

The trouble comes when illegal aliens leave agriculture and start trashing wage levels in other sectors
