The B of E took a tough stance against making it easier to give mortgage loans. The Prime Minister got upset and told the central bank to 'toe the line and loosen up!' What happened next? All hell breaks loose and people start lining and demanding their money.

Perhaps one of the dumbest things in the world is a central bank taking orders from politicos. Right behind Wall Street selling mortgages over and over again hidden beneath piles of paper with fake A+ ratings.
