She once spent more than £220,000 on a head-to-toe surgical makeover to make herself look younger.
But four years later - and having failed to secure the string of big-money parts she had presumably hoped to win - Demi Moore has decided to speak out against ageism in Hollywood.

True. I’ve always thought Sissy Spacek looked very hostile.

Acting is not a necessary skill for movies. The actor is little more than a stage prop in front of the camera. You obviously didn't see Brett Favre in his cameo in "Something About Mary".

Penélope Cruz in Volver (Sony Pictures Classics)
Judi Dench in Notes on a Scandal (Fox Searchlight)
Helen Mirren in The Queen (Miramax, Pathé and Granada)
Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada (20th Century Fox)
Kate Winslet in Little Children (New Line)
I note 3 of the 5 Oscar nominees for Lead Actress this year were over 40. But the difference is, these women can act much better than Demi. She was good as a part of the Brat Pack in the 80s, but that didn’t require her challenging herself much.

Stephen, maybe that wife of yours could do something with that wooden thing she drags around.

Why do you think she is wearing that outfit? To show off her figure, I am guessing. (I know - there should have been a warning on that picture.) Tee hee.

I think Michelle Pfeiffer is about 10 times better-looking than Demi, and much more talented.

I think cosmetic surgery done on the young to correct things like a hideous nose on an otherwise pretty face, is successful. Cosmetic surgery done to an aging face to try and recapture their youthful looks, is usually a huge failure.

Seems a lot of older women get Hollywood rolls, so maybe she made herself lose those rolls by making herself this chest enhanced older woman who surgically made herself look younger. She maybe did this to herself.
Speaking of doing it to yourself, at least she didn't have 5 pounds of silicon pumped into her lips, like Melanie Griffith did, FGS! BTW Griffith is five years older than Demi.
I never could figure out why Griffith got so many roles, she irritates the heck out of me.

Also, she did enough nude acting to make her somewhat less attractive to studios looking for the older woman parts.
There are a lot of very good actresses for those parts, so why go with Demi, who while a passable actress has shown little range in all the roles she has played.
It’s not like she hasn’t had a chance. She’s been in dozens of movies, and played a lot of different roles. I just don’t remember her being very good in most of the dramatic ones that would demonstrate her “older woman” abilities.
And I don’t care how much surgery she has, there are just too many actresses that are actually that age who play it better than she will.
However, there is hope — look at Sharon Stone, who found a way to stay in the business.

True. Ive always thought Sissy Spacek looked very hostile. I was born with an expression that was always taken as angry...maybe Sissy was too.
I think Sissy can out-act about 98% of women in her age bracket.
