I don't think philosophers are very reliable when it comes to sex advice. It turns out not to be a matter of philosophy, which should surprise precisely no one. Sex isn't actually a matter of politics either. People for whom life consists solely of philosophy and for whom "the personal is the political" are to be avoided as idiots no matter how brilliant they are in their chosen fields.

Anyone really want to take sex advice from, say, Bertrand Russell? Hegel? Plato? Nietzsche? Heidegger maybe - at least when he rutted it was with Hannah Arendt. But you get the idea.

If I wanted sex advice from someone in an intellectual field it'd have to be Johann Sebastian Bach. At least he knew what the heck he was doing.
