Britney Spears has gone downhill since that imfamous kiss with that hag Madonna. It was as if Madonna sucked all the life from her. So sad.
We HAVE now created a world where Marilyn Monroe could not get a job in films unless she lost 30 lbs.
I wonder if she got an STD from Madonna?

I agree. That said, Marilyn definitely had a nose job.
She appeared in a bikini (or underwear). That’s a big “look at my body” sign. I don’t spend time making mental notes on women who could shed a few pounds, but when I see a woman showing off her plump midriff, it occurs to me that she should lose a few or choose a more modest style.
Did Britney look fat? For an average girl at the beach? No. For someone parading their sexual attractiveness on national TV, she looked a little plump.
No, MM would have to lose 50 pounds, become a size 0 and at 35, she would have been considered too old to be attractive.
And this world has been around for what, 20 years now?
Her midriff IS NOT PLUMP!
It is a normal, female, human’s middle.
Maybe I’ve been spoiled to attended workshops with 75 women all exposing their middles proudly. Or maybe I’ve had to deal with one eating disorder too many. Or maybe I’ve been around too many happy, normal, healthy women with gorgeous bodies of all shapes and sizes.
Look at pictures of Betty Grable, Sophia Loren, Rita Hayworth, Fifi Abdou, Nagwa Fouad, Dina, Marilyn Monroe, Mae West. Those were normal women with normal ‘plump’ middles. Normal middles with a layer of “GASP!” FAT!
Damn, we are in a sick culture when a normal healthy woman is considered ‘plump’ and a malnourished child is considered sexy.
If those are the pictures that she’s being insulted about, then Western Civilization is truly damned to hell.

Well 20 years ago we had Cindy Crawford who (if my memory serves me right, but I am willing to be wrong here) was not a size 0. She had curves and inspired a certain amount of drool.

If I put a better than average man on TV in the venue of pro-athletes, he would be regarded as flabby.

I think a lot of it is that they have been ragging on her for her weight gain for so long they can’t stop. Some pictures have shown her much bigger than the ones from the VMAs.
If my wife looks like that after having two kids I’m going to be ecstatic though. Hell, if she looks like that pre-two kids I will be.
Britany Spears is a train wreck. IMHO, she has absolutely no talent and her behaviour is out of control. However, she looks like a 20s something woman who has given birth to 2 children.

But venue also is a window into a culture’s mindset.
Which is interesting, because she’s a singer and her voice is what should matter.
Granted, that may be why so many US singers are so bad and why other countries that go on voice before looks offer better music.
