Kathy Griffin's Bravo series "My Life on the D-List" won the Emmy for "Best Reality Program (non-competition).

Her speech was memorable, in which she refused to thank Jesus.

"A lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this. He had nothing to do with this," Griffin said. "Suck it, Jesus. This award is my God now."

The comic has won that Emmy she’s long coveted.

This award is my God now

She is only saying what most actors are thinking. I wish that all of them were this honest. It would make it easier to tell what side they are on.

That picture is horrible. She must have had some surgery that went wrong. She should replace Greta Van Susteren as Michael Savage’s “Scarface”.

Griffin purportedly is dating Apple Computer co-founder Steve Wozniak whom she met after he watched her stand-up show in July, 2007. [2]

Griffin describes herself as a “militant atheist”. While in high school she fell away from the Roman Catholic Church and wanted to become a Unitarian. Said Griffin: “I’m not really sure what that is, but it sounds better

I’ve never heard of this show either. If you’re lucky, it won’t make it to your side of the Atlantic!

“Should Kathy Griffin’s punishment for foolish, stupid and blasphemous remarks be the same punishment that a mass murderer might get? I can’t see the justice in that.”...

The problem is that most folks forget that mankind has NO good in him at all. When Adam fell, all of mankind was doomed to sin. God is just and holy; he punishes sin, period. The only way we’re saved is through Jesus’ perfect life and shed blood on the Cross. Christ atones for us — he endured God’s wrath FOR us. If one doesn’t believe in Jesus, and rest on HIS actions for one’s salvation alone, that soul is headed for the punishment that we all deserve.

So, in short — yes, Kathy Griffin’s punishment would be the same as a mass-murder, or any unrepentant sinner no matter how “small” we might see the infraction to be... in God’s eyes, sin is sin and MUST be punished.

God forgives inadvertant sins committed against Him. That is the idea behind the Yom Kippur liturgy. But God cannot forgive sins we commit against our fellow man. If we have sinned against another human being, we must seek out their forgiveness.

There is nothing like people who put themselves before God. The proverb that comes to mind here about them is: pride goes before a fall. This woman does not know what that means.

Apparently she blames Jesus for her brutal plastic surgery results.

You know you're ugly when plastic surgery can do nothing for you. She was ugly before the surgery, and now she's just a different ugly.

She is a talentless comic. This is satire. Why are we bothering to even take the bait? C'mon FReepers.

I'm sorry, but anytime one of these "I spent time in hell" books comes out, one has to be skeptical and discerning. And despite how much scripture he attributes to his visit in this article, he left one key verse out -

Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.

Nothing in scripture indicates that the damned will be tortured by demons; rather, hell was created for their punishment. Contrary to that, in the article he says

Instinctively, I just knew that some of the things I experienced were a thousand times worse than what would be possible on the earth's surface—things such as the odors mentioned, the strength of the demons, the loudness of the screams, the dryness, and the loneliness felt.

Just wrong. Hell is NOT the home of demons; they're terrified of it -

Luke 8:30 And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him. 31 And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.

To suggest that men will be tormented by such creatures, that demons will be instruments of punishment rather than sufferers in it, is simply not biblical.

As long as her heart remains hard, doubtful. It takes some major crisis to reach people like her. She'll have to learn the hard way that her puny little trophy she considers her god is as worthless as the golden calf was centuries ago.

Yep!

It’s coveting in general. The list includes things that basically don’t belong to you, or aren’t right for you to desire.

Christ expands on the commandment to include it with idolatry. She covets the trophy, the prize of the world, over her own soul.

Kathy Griffin's Bravo series "My Life on the D-List..."

She's on the D-List allright - the "damned" list.

I hope she enjoys the time she has left on this earth, 'cause she doesn't have much to look forward to afterward.

Well, there is something refreshing about plain, simple, open idolatry in a time when most idolatry is subtle—replacing God with ‘humanity’ or self or some lifeless abstraction. Still, an Emmy statue? I mean a really nice *big* statue of Zeus or a big golden calf at least has some material majesty to it. An Emmy statue?

(This is, of course, a bit tongue in cheek, it’s fairly clear Ms. Griffin’s god is self.)
