IRVING, Texas - Three days before their regular-season opener, the Cowboys learned wide receiver Terry Glenn's problematic right knee will force him to miss the entire 2007 season, team owner and general manager Jerry Jones said late Thursday afternoon.
Jones said Glenn's knee injury is similar to that of former Cowboys center Al Johnson, who missed his entire rookie season in 2003 following microfracture surgery.
"You hate to see this with one of your top players and we need all of those we can beyond the field," Jones said. ""It's a real blow for Terry and for us."

Not good. This is what happens when your top receivers are on the wrong side of 30. We don’t really have anyone to replace him with the same attributes. Bummer.
That’s certainly a bummer.
Ouch. That sucks for Dallas.
I think Crayton and Hurd will fill in nicely. I am willing to bet that Glenn retires after this. He may wait until the surgery and recovery is over.
I really like what Hurd brings to the offense, but he’s a solid #3 receiver, not a #2. His skills are not comparable to Glenn’s. IE, he’s not a deep threat/doesn’t demand a double team.
But you’re right about retirement for Glenn, I’m afraid.
Another Setback Glenn Likely Out At Least 2 Weeks With Knee Injury
Good for Glenn, lucky I guess. Courtney Brown had the same surgery a few years ago and it ended his career in Cleveland.
“She’s hurt again?” asked Bill Parcells.
Yes, she’s hurt, and we’re getting the old conflicting reports runaround to boot. Bet the Cowboys are making calls to FA WR’s as we speak.
