We’ll see. If they can repeat that performance against the elite AFC teams then certainly. The Lombardi trophy will be won in the AFC title game again.

They've got to be the favorites until someone can prove they're better. The offense is as good as it ever was, and if the defense plays even 3/4 that good, they're going to be practically scary.
You are correct, though, that the Super Bowl will be anti-climactic after the real title game, the AFC Championship.

If we could carry over impressions from last year, you'd have to say that amongst the Colts, Chargers and Patriots, the Patriots win was minimally the more impressive, in that last year the Jets were a better team than the Saints - who got stomped by everyone in the AFC that they played, except Cleveland, who they beat in a close game - and a bit behind the Bears - who got solidly beat by the Patriots and stomped by the Dolphins while eking out a victory over the Jets and pounding the Bills - who managed to keep the Chargers from running riot on them. It's the first game of the season though, so we don't really know how they stack up this year.
