Remarkable is absolutely dead-on. And what’s even more incredible is that so many people just don’t see it at all, not with cats, not with dogs, not with birds or hamsters or any other critter in God’s kingdom and they go about their lives with no clue. It’s sad. They miss out on so much that we critter owners experience every single day in such small ways. To see this wonderful, powerful beast reduced to near tears if he could cry ... yet he’s so careful with her, to not hurt her for all his massive girth and strength ... it’s truly amazing. What are we missing by NOT treating animals as intelligent as they are?

We are missing much too much, but the "experts" don't know that.

When I was six, I asked the vet a question I already knew the answer to, can dogs smile. He said they couldn't because they don't have the muscles for it.

Maintain a healthy skepticism and trust your intuition.
