Believe me, I don’t think parents need to micro-manage their children 24/7! (I used to be a teacher and day care director as well, so I have some experience with supervising children)-still, this was my first question because ATVs are dangerous and kids should be supervised if they are using them. No one apparently noticed these kids were missing until very late in the day. It sounds like they were found a long distance away from home? And the parents had no clue?
Yep. I’ve got a problem with that. Of course, I also realize how sneaky kids can be sometimes, but I also know that in smaller rural communities, supervising of children isn’t always in the forefront and kids are left on their own a lot to do this sort of thing (ATVing).

I believe you. I feel the same way. I was commenting in general rather than just pointed at you or even to this particular tragedy. Just that it is hard. On one hand the first thing we, including me, do is say where were the parents yet on an obesity thread the lament will be kids are kept inside with their games too much. Parents don’t have the time and after a certain point I don’t think kids want them shadowing them. It is tough. I guess in the end you just have to pray everybody makes it without becoming a headline.
