That’s pretty impressive. Has Roger Clemens ever thrown one?

How many rookies have achieved this distinction? Mayhap time for a contract re-negotiation.

YES just watched a wonderful performance by a rookie pitcher.
This is in the history book for the Red Sox. First time a rookie pitcher every pitched a no hitter. Congrats.

Clemons has never pitched a no-hitter. He’s had a few one-hitters and 2 20 strikeout games.

I listened to this game over the internet (MLB radio). ESPN even broke into the Auburn-Kansas State game to show the last out. This pitcher could be a great addition for the post-season. Jim Palmer was doing the orioles broadcast and they were talking about how similar this BoSox pitcher is to Jim Palmer.

Buchholz was the 17th rookie to accomplish this.Anibal Sanchez did it last year with the Marlins.

That makes the achievement all the more remarkable. I know about the two 20-strikeout games by Clemens but I figured he would have had at least one no-hitter. Not that I'm trying to take away from Clemens.
I know that Rob Lowe threw a no-hitter for the Boston Red Sox a few years back. Can't remember any other Red Sox no-hitters over the past 40 years or so.

****How many rookies have achieved this distinction?****
ESPN said 20 pitcher have thrown no hitters since 1900 during their rookie seasons. One pitcher for the old St Louis Browns threw a no hitter in his first start. They said he only won one other game in his career.

Pop and me watched the end thanks to ESPN. That kid’s got poise.
That delivery of his is like fast-pitch softball with that unpredictable arc. It’s just amazing to watch.

A rookier named Bo Belinski threw a no-hitter against the O’s when i was a kid. Then, he started dated Mamie Van Doren and lost interest in baseball.
Amazingly enough, the worst owner in sports has now finished making the O’s the worst team in baseball. What a tragedy!

Buchholz is a rookie. Red Sox brought him up this year from Pawtucket. He is 23 years old.

Sorry, it wasn’t Rob Lowe that threw the no-hitter a few years back, it was Nick Lowe. Rob Lowe is some sort of “movie” actor.

I know that Rob Lowe threw a no-hitter for the Boston Red Sox a few years back...He also tossed a no-hit in the mid-80s with the St. Elmos Fire.
