SOmething like this might happen is basketball. In the early 80’s Chaminade (Hawaii) beat a highly ranked Univ of Virginia basketball team. In basket ball sometimes you could get a hot three point shooter and a guard with a hot hand and you might win. But in football just having one hot player can’t make an upset like this happen. This might even be more incredible that USA’s 1980 hockey victory over USSR.

Nah...they could still win the Big Ten and go to the Rose Bowl probably versus a second place PAC 10 team. Or they could go to the Outback or Citrus bowl which are both played on New Years Day.
