“Until we got our asses handed to us by a bunch of reservists in Appalachia.”

The whole Union Army had that problem for a while.

If I were an OSU fan I'd be hoping Carr would stick around forever...

Ha! Good point.

Seriously, if Ohio State had lost to Youngstown State, I would expect Tressel's head to roll. Carr should step down - they had ALL summer to prepare for that game.

Lenoir-Rhyne. That’s my alma-matter, it’s a tiny lutheran college that’s in Division II. We’ll lose to ASU 100 to 0. Still, I’m going to Boone and watch this match up.

I thought I was aware of most of the colleges in that part of the world, but I confess that I’ve never heard of it.

It’s in Hickory, North Carolina. In the Western Part of the state, about an hour northwest of Charlotte. The college only has 1,600 students. The only reason that Lenoir-Rhyne is getting any mention is because they are playing ASU next. My guess is that ASU is using some of the $400,000 they were paid to go to Michigan to get LRC to come to Boone.

We offered other Div 1-A schools $$$$ to go to there place and play but no one would take the $$$$. They were scared. Let me help you understand this.

App State offered money

to

Division 1-A colleges

to

Go to there house. Easy. App would pay you to play at your house. That means no travel. App would the home team wouldn’t. No one would take our offer. That’s how we got Lenoir Rhyne on the schedule. We still have 2 open dates if you know anyone that would like to play us.

Your coach must be thanking his lucky stars for that blocked kick! What was he thinking, going for a field goal on first down? I can understand wanting more downs in case the kicker missed but, sheesh, burn some time! That would have been a real heartbreaker.

I hadn't either heard of this school.

The game was noteworthy because of the surprise ending. However, of all the games I have seen nothing beats the Boise St. game. A classic!

That's amazing. I guess ASU is truly feared throughout NCAA and no Div I-A would risk such a matchup when they do not have to.

I think it's time that ASU join the big boys in Div I and join Conference USA league or something.

App is putting $40 million into upgrading the stadium. When there finished they’ll make the jump.

I agree. I think I would have tried 1 more play. The best part about App football is balance. The defense and special teams always make big plays to help the offense.

Yeah — I’m just glad it worked out for them. Today he’s a hero. Had Michigan succeeded, they would have been questioning that call the rest of his career!

Me too. It’s one Big 10 uppity up that’s the biggest opponent of a playoff.

Now I know why.....

Biggest ever. Meaning inflation requires something beyond the superlative anymore. How about a hyperlative? Biggerest. Most biggerest of all time. More biggester than biggerest. Even if it isn’t.

I have one comment:

SPEED KILLS

APP State has it and Michigan doesn’t.

bingo.....Two weeks ago my wife and I are flying up to Vermont and I read the college football preseason sports illustrated. My wife and were convinced then and there we could win this game. They out weighed us by 20lbs and were 3-4 inches taller. We watched the speed last year and knew it was returning.
