Here’s a “Chupacabra” update (sort of), from a story published today in one newspaper in Puerto Rico:

“Twenty fighting cocks and 10 hens were killed in their cages at a dwelling in the Quebrada Arenas neighborhood [of the town of Toa Alta], which might be an attack of the almost vanished and forgotten ‘Chupacabra’.

“Police report that 47-year-old Carmelo Reyes Guzmán filed a complaint yesterday morning after finding the cages broken with the animals inside dead.

“’No blood was found at the scene,’ the police report reads, thus following the pattern of other cases attributed to the ‘Chupacabra’ during the last two decades. The birds’ owner estimated the loss from the deaths of the cocks and the hens at $2,000.”
