I agree. I think some people see “Tom Cruise” and say a film is dreck. One of the things about the way Wells framed the story was a disconnected society, and especially the main character roving from place to place trying to survive. There is a nomadic fog over the whole story, and Speilburg hit it just right, IMHO.

I thought Cruise did well, also my IMHO. YMMV.

Just remember... make sure Spielberg & Tom’s checks clears before shouting their praises...
